Archbishop Christoforos Inspects Construction Work at Al-Maghtas University

His Eminence Archbishop Christoforos, accompanied by a number of priests and deacons, inspected the construction work at the International Orthodox University of Al-Maghtas yesterday, Tuesday. The visit was attended by Mr. Markos, who donated the university’s construction, and members of the engineering committee supervising the project.
It is worth noting that the International Orthodox University of Al-Maghtas was announced by His Majesty King Abdullah II during his meeting with representatives of the Christian denominations to wish them well on the occasion of Christmas 2025.
He offered a royal grant to establish it at the holiest Christian site in the world—the Baptism Site of Jesus Christ/Al-Maghtas, which is a source of spiritual inspiration and contemplation. This grant enhances its status and spiritual and academic mission, making it a global intellectual platform that combines tradition and innovation.
